This ozone-free filter with an attactive gray casing combines the top five technologies into one unit: air ionizer for particles, HEPA air filter for dust and allergens, germicidal UV light for micro-organisms, activated carbon filter for chemicals, smoke and odors, and an anti-bacterial pre-filter for larger particles. Tests show that true HEPA filters (recommended by the Dept. of Homeland Security) are more effective than any other type of air filter at capturing dust, pollen, ragweed, dust mites, mold spores and other allergens. Germicidal UV light air purification, which destroys micro-ogranisms, is recommended by the U.S. Centers of Disease Control (CDC). Furthermore, according to Penn State Dept. of Aerobiological researchers, carbon filters serve to remove odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and chemicals that other filters cannot. Marie-Claude, I started just below the air purifier 52 hours, and it has changed my quality of life. I've never owned an air purifier before. I was literally choking the air in my own apartment during the few months that I lived here, and I had very unrealistic expectations about an air cleaner: I'm posting something like, "Wow, I could feel the difference after two hours!" Well, OK, it took about two hours! But it happened. I started on the low fan with the disinfectant with disabilities. Then I went with medium speed, then I have the disinfectant on the bottom, then I have the fan on the top and the disinfectant on average. I woke up this morning and choked on the air no longer associate with the dusty smell aggressive, with whom I came to my apartment faced. I went out today with the fan on high and disinfectant in the middle and came back tonight to a completely different atmosphere that I'm not afraid of the ozone produced by the disinfectant, but you can choose to run only once or never. My only concern is that, unlike other air filters, it does not have a display light that indicates when the HEPA filter is dirty (and permanent HEPA filter if you have a handheld vacuum, but you can also choose to buy a filter replacement [also available via Amazon]). Since this is my first air cleaner, an artificial light would have been great. But I went for the money. I think I know when the filter needs vacuuming or feel the change when the air is thick, again with particles. But not negative. I love this thing. I want to hug him. With Gene Jenkins, I bought my first XJ-3000 Surround Air Purifier in 2005. It's in the bedroom ever since. The air always smells fresh and clean, not musty. I bought two more for my boys. One was too high. Sent it back and was immediately replaced. Excellent service. That you check to see where the woman thought they were not in order ... they have forgotten to remove the package from the filter. That's what I do when I get a replacement filter. This work is EXCELLENT! The ionization makes the air so fresh. I thought I run in 2005, 24 (24) hours a day seven (7) days a week and bought it still runs like it when I bought it. Only problem is that I am the main filter every two years ... Here's a tip ... take it out and vacuum it every three months or so. It will take much longer. All 24 customer reviews ....
